California girl Courtney Thorne-Smith during her stint on Melrose Place

Pictured here is a bright-eyed Courtney Thorne-Smith during her one of her best known roles; Alison Parker on the hit show Melrose Place. The show aired on July 8, 1992, and ran until May 24, 1999, but her role ended in 1997. She went on to yet another hit show, playing Georgia Thomas in Ally McBeal from 1997 to 2000. She spent 2001 to 2009, starring as Cheryl on According to Jim and then it was off to play Alan Harper’s girlfriend, Lyndsey McElroy, in Two and a Half Men.

Before Melrose Place, Thorne-Smith had already begun to make a name for herself with small but frequent television appearances and some film work throughout the 80’s. First with an appearance in the 1986 drama Lucas, alongside Winona Ryder, Corey Haim, and Charlie Sheen. Then she appeared in films such as Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (1987), and Side Out (1990).
