So much class and sass, filled Hollywood before the 70’s were in full swing and the ‘free love movement began to wipe out that old Hollywood glam that first kicked off in the late 20’s-early 30’s. It went from men in suits to jeans and T-Shirts. From a doll-faced Audrey Hepburn posed with Santa to (a most likely stoned) Jimi Hendrix all decked out as Father Christmas holding up his Axis Bold As Love LP. Collected here are images that define both, the Golden Age of Hollywood and it’s glitz coming to an end in the 60’s as the new era crept in.

Here we have the 'King of Cool', Steven McQueen raising his glass in a toast back in 1968. The handsome actor rose to fame throughout the counterculture of the 1960s. Aside from his reputation as a 'ladies man', McQueen is probably best known for his roles in hit films such as The Great Escape, Papillon, Bullitt, and The Thomas Crown Affair. At the peak of his career, he was the highest paid actor in Hollywood and the biggest box-office draw of the 1960s and 1970s. His style and his entire vibe made everyone who watched him onscreen want to be like him. The height of his celebrity saw men putting on tailored suits and buying cool cars - just like our boy Steve McQueen.
