Rupert Holmes, writer of that '70s pop couplet, has been asking us those personal-ad questions since "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" was released in 1979. The song went to #1 in December of that year, and is one of those emblematic tunes that brings back an era, for better or worse. Though Holmes' name is an answer to a trivia question these days, he wasn't actually a one-hit wonder, and he went on to a career as a successful writer of musicals and plays.
