Here’s John Lennon of The Beatles in his only non-musical role 'Gripweed' in How I Won the War back in 1966. The dark comedy directed and produced by Richard Lester, was based on a novel of the same name by Patrick Ryan. It tells the story of 3rd Troop, the 4th Musketeers and their misadventures during the Second World War. The film uses an inconsistent variety of styles and is a parody of the war film genre.

It stars Michael Crawford as British Army Officer Lieutenant Earnest Goodbody, with John Lennon as Musketeer Gripweed, Jack MacGowran (Musketeer Juniper), Roy Kinnear (Musketeer Clapper) and Lee Montague (Sergeant Transom) as soldiers under his command.

Jerry Hall was a model throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s and she began having an affair with Mick Jagger in 1977 while he was married to Bianca Jagger. They ended up becoming common-law spouses and then had an unofficial wedding ceremony in 1990. The couple had four children together before once again, Jagger proved he couldn’t settle down. There were far too many models in the world and he had to go and impregnate another one by the name of Luciana Morad. The song “Miss You” was written for Hall.
