Back in February of 1968, the Beatles attended an advanced Transcendental Meditation program at the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Their trip to Rishikesh, India received a lot of media attention and their visit ended up being one of the band's most productive periods.The band wasn’t alone in their voyage, as can be seen in this photograph here. They brought along their wives, girlfriends, assistants, and numerous reporters. The Beatles, especially George Harrison helped to change Western attitudes about Indian spirituality. They fully encouraged the study and practice of Transcendental Meditation.
